Anatel has established, exceptionally, in the period between August 1 and September 30, 2016, the following conditions concerning the Amateur Radio Service:

  • to authorize all Brazilian amateur radio operators that so desire to operate, in the period from August 1 to September 30, 2016, with a special identifier code formed by its specific identifier code doubling the digit, without the need to send a request to Anatel and without taxes; and,
  • to authorize foreign amateur radio operators, regardless of the existence of reciprocity treaties, to operate stations in Brazil in the period from August 1 to September 30, 2016, in compliance with the regulations in force in Brazil, without the need to send a request to Anatel and without taxes, by means of a control procedure to be determined by the LIGA DE AMADORES BRASILEIROS DE RÁDIO EMISSÃO – LABRE, an entity recognized by the Ministry of Communications as a Brazilian amateur radio association and recognized by the IARU (International Amateur Radio Union), which will keep copies of passports and licenses from the country of origin, as well as a list of operation sites, and other information available to Anatel.
